Abstract
One of the most urgent practices to be reviewed in construction is building design process planning. Despite efforts in recent years, when it does exist, this planning is still insufficient and/or inadequate, above all because of market pressures and the scant time usually reserved for this phase. As a result, building projects often fail to achieve the expected results in terms of time, costs, quality and scope. This article discusses a model for developing integrated design process management, presenting a systematization of pre-design activities that involve the planning of a new project based on company business strategies, as well as organization of the work to be developed during and after the design phase.
